The old website for the Marien-Hospital in Düsseldorf was very difficult to locate using search engines (only about 16 of the pages were indexed at all). In addition, the previous CMS was very difficult to use. Responsibility for the relaunch was granted to cekom.
First an analysis was made regarding visibility to search engines of the most important keywords. This meant, among other things, ensuring that the website would be found by entering 'Marien-Hospital Düsseldorf' but also by entering variants of the spelling such as 'Marienhospital Düsseldorf'. In addition, optimisation was performed for a variety of medical terms.
The generation of the website was handled by cekom's Laurin content management system. To ensure excellent accessibility, XHTML and CSS were used. Content was created after a short period of training for Marien-Hospital staff.
After the launch of the site, cekom had managed to ensure that all the pages (about 150 of them) had been spidered and had made appearances in search indices within a few days. |
